Brand new “perks” for 2011 Senior Ambassadors

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009
seniorad1Hey Everyone…
We’re still searching for students in the class of 2011 to be our Senior Portrait Ambassadors & Models.
Since we want to make sure that our Models have a great time with your sessions, and get great deals in return, we’re continuing to add new “perks” for those of you who are selected to represent us.
Here’s a list of new things we’ve added to the program for you:
  • The BIGGEST news… All of our 2011 Ambassadors will receive 50% off the package you purchase from your Individual Modeling Session. You (and probably your folks) will save at least $350 or more from just this one “perk”!
  • A set of custom-designed “Ambassador” cards to give to friends.
  • A really cool DVD slideshow on Facebook that you can share with all your friends.
  • For every friend you refer to us, you’ll get a 5% commission from their sale.
  • Every friend you refer to us will receive 50% off their session fees.

Remember, you’re going to be getting Senior Portraits next year any way. Why not have us create them, AND get them at 50% off and get a ton of great “extras” to boot?

We’d like to have between 2 to 4 Ambassadors in every school, so be sure to send your friends to us and have them fill out the application form.
Thanks!

Colorado Ranching project

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

I am SO excited about this new project that I’m beginning next year!

Some of you already know this about me…

My son, Aaron feeding the cattle at Lasater Ranch

I love farming and ranching. Not the mega-Agri-business kind, but the REAL kind. The kind that produces food that actually nourishes you, and the kind that harmonizes with the organisms being produced.

Recently, photographer, John Fielder, photographed Ranches of Colorado and published a book by that name. I haven’t yet seen the book, but I have viewed many of the photographs in the book, and they are, as is almost everything produced by Fielder, stunning and beautiful.

A couple of years ago, I spent some time at Lasater Ranch, which has been featured in publications such as Atlantic Monthly, National Geographic, and the book, Fast Food Nation, as well as on PBS. The purpose of my visit then was to photograph the cattle and write an article about the ranch. In 2010, however, I’m planning, Lord willing, to launch a project to photograph not just the ranch and its cattle, but ranch life in Colorado. I’m working with Lasater’s ranch manager to schedule times for me to come throughout the year and chronicle life on their ranch. My hope is to also do the same on the Chico Basin Ranch. The goal is to produce images of ranch life for use on greeting cards, calendars, and possibly a self-published book.

I hope to be out there during feeding times, calving, weaning, and for their cattle drive in May, which is all done on horseback.

Lasater Ranch is a wildlife sanctuary where numerous species share the prairie with the cattle.

For those of you who are interested in this project and the images we capture, be sure to keep following our blog and our Facebook pages.

Colorado Springs children's portraitsWhat a great response we’ve had this fall to our Kids’ Modeling Program. We’ve had a great time capturing some really fun images of children from babies to teens. These are being used as sample photos that we’ve put on the Children’s page on our website. Check it out.

The plan is to continue this program throughout the winter of 2010, so keep watch if you want your child to be our next super model! :-)

Thanks for reading!
