‘11 Ambassadors To Cash In

Friday, January 29th, 2010

If You’re In The Graduating Class Of 2011, You Can Earn Big By Being One Of Our ‘11 Ambassadors, Plus Get A Ton Of Great Stuff For Your Own Senior Portraits

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been interviewing students to be our Ambassador Models for the graduating class of 2011. So far, we’ve selected students from Palmer, Manitou, TCA, Palmer Ridge, Pueblo West, and Cheyenne Mountain, and this weekend interviews are set up with 3 or 4 more students.

But, we would still like to have Ambassadors in several other area schools, especially Rampart, Liberty, Pine Creek, Air Academy, and Falcon.

We’ve put together a pretty great program for the ‘11 Ambassadors including:

  • 5% commissions on the sales made to anyone an Ambassador refers to us. That can be by directly speaking to another student, or even if someone sees your portraits on Facebook and calls us from that, that counts as a referral for you!
  • $50 portrait credit for participating in our ‘11 Ambassadors Group Portrait Session
  • A cool slideshow (like the one you see below) of your own portraits for you to post on Facebook
  • Facebook images of your portraits
  • Much more!

If You’re Wondering What You Need To Do As One Of Our Ambassadors…

It’s really pretty simple. All we need you to do is to pass out all the information cards we give you. Give them to the other students in your class, or even other students in the class of ‘11 at other schools. If you know friends from youth group, sports, or other places, you can give them to those students as well. (No, you’re not allowed to just leave the cards in the bathroom at school… You actually do have to give them away to peole. :-)

We’re Only Accepting Applications For A Short Time

The Group Portrait Session is coming up quickly on February 27, so we’re only accepting applications for ‘11 Ambassadors for a couple more weeks, and then, to be fair, we’ve got to shut it off. So, if you or someone you know is in the class of 2011, and would like to be considered to be one of our Ambassadors, simply complete the application form. We’ll review it and contact you to talk about setting up an interview.

There’s only a couple more weeks to apply, so turn in your application right away!

Thanks for reading.

Brand new “perks” for 2011 Senior Ambassadors

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009
seniorad1Hey Everyone…
We’re still searching for students in the class of 2011 to be our Senior Portrait Ambassadors & Models.
Since we want to make sure that our Models have a great time with your sessions, and get great deals in return, we’re continuing to add new “perks” for those of you who are selected to represent us.
Here’s a list of new things we’ve added to the program for you:
  • The BIGGEST news… All of our 2011 Ambassadors will receive 50% off the package you purchase from your Individual Modeling Session. You (and probably your folks) will save at least $350 or more from just this one “perk”!
  • A set of custom-designed “Ambassador” cards to give to friends.
  • A really cool DVD slideshow on Facebook that you can share with all your friends.
  • For every friend you refer to us, you’ll get a 5% commission from their sale.
  • Every friend you refer to us will receive 50% off their session fees.

Remember, you’re going to be getting Senior Portraits next year any way. Why not have us create them, AND get them at 50% off and get a ton of great “extras” to boot?

We’d like to have between 2 to 4 Ambassadors in every school, so be sure to send your friends to us and have them fill out the application form.
Thanks!

Kaitlyn’s Senior session video

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Here’s a quick video of Kaitlyn’s 2010 senior portrait session.

This was a great time with Kaitlyn and her mom in Fox Run Park last month. We couldn’t have asked for better weather and the location was perfect too.

If you’re considering doing senior portraits, or even family portraits, Fox Run Park is a great spot. There are 2 small lakes surrounded by trees and grass, and there’s a nice gazebo in the middle of one of the lakes. We’ve photographed 2 weddings on the gazebo.

If you’ve never been there, and you would like to check it out, to get to Fox Run, go north on Academy to Hwy. 83. Take this past New Life Church where 83 turns sharp right and if you keep going straight past New Life, you’re now on Voyager Pkwy. Take Voyager all the way to Northgate Rd. and turn right. At Roller Coaster Rd., turn left and stay on that until you get to Stella. At this intersection, you’ll see a sign for the park. Turn left on Stella and then an immediate right into the park. If you go left at the dead-end, follow the road around until you see the lakes on the right.

Fox Run has 5 miles of trails, sports fields, and a couple of great playgrounds for the smaller children.

Enjoy!

Megan’s Senior Session

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009
Megan and her mom, Tammie, loved this image from Megan's recent portrait session

Megan and her mom, Tammie, loved this image from Megan's recent portrait session

Congratulations, Megan, on your very successful senior session.

We got to use a cool new location that I found a few weeks ago to do Megan’s session. There are about a dozen different looks and settings all within one square block in this new location.

Megan even had a fun time and enjoyed getting to be a model for an hour or so.

Not only will Megan and her mom be getting some great enlargements from the session, but they’re also getting a cool collage (we call them panels) with 4 of their favorite images, and the image you see on the left will appear on the front of Megan’s graduation announcements for her to send to family and close friends. That way, their family and friends get the announcement, but then also get a nice, real photo to frame, not just some wallet photo to stick on the fridge!

Megan’s mom loved the results, and had this to say about the portraits:

Oh my gosh! These portraits are so cool! That is just who Megan is. I mean… you really captured Megan’s personality. Thank you so much!
Tammie Grevin,
Colo. Springs

We’ve got even more senior portraits from the classes of ‘10 from around Colorado Springs, and even Falcon and Peyton which we’ll be posting here in the next few days.

Thanks for reading!

Our time at Lasater Ranch

Thursday, July 16th, 2009
Some of the cattle at Lasater Ranch

Some of the cattle at Lasater Ranch

As many of our clients and friends know, I love farming and ranching, and would love to live and work on a farm or ranch. We currently have dairy goats and we’ve had meat and egg chickens in the past. This is something that I really enjoy.

Well, in the summer of 2007, 3 of my boys and I spent a night at Lasater Ranch in eastern Colorado. At the time, I was planning to write a freelance article about Lasater, but our photography schedule, and life in general, kind of got in the way. I still hope to write the article about Lasater, and will look for outlets to publish it, so I thought that I would share some of the images from our time at the ranch.

Our visit to the ranch was very enjoyable, and I would encourage anyone to take advantage of the “Field Days” they have there to see for yourself what a real, and health-promoting, cattle ranch is like. Andy Duffy, the ranch manager, made us feel like old friends coming out for a visit. He showed us all around the ranch in the Lasater Suburban, a beat-up old SUV that seems like it might be held together with duct tape and baling twine. We got to see many of the pastures where they rotate their herds and got lots of great information about the ranch. Andy showed us where we could go the next morning to get some photos, and told us how to get in and out of the pasture. It was great to feel so trusted on his ranch to be able to come and go into the pastures to get our photos.

I really like the philosophy of the Lasater operation. Not only do they NOT use any medications which are so ubiquitous to the industry, but they allow the herds to start and finish on grass. This gives their beef a distinctive flavor that you don’t find in feed-lot beef. We visited the ranch a couple years before, and Tom Lasater made us a pot roast lunch that our children still remember!

But, that’s not all that distinguishes the Lasater operation from every other ranch. Their cattle are bred for disposition and are “gentled” when they’re young.

My boys and I let ourselves into the pasture in the morning and found the herd. We were a little nervous about it all because we’re used to goats, not cows and bulls! But, the cows were all very curious about us and just wanted to come see what we were. As you can see in the photo,

Aaron, who was 8 at the time stood in the midst of them and fed and petted them. What a great time this was for all of us! I’ll be very thankful to Andy and Lasater Ranch for a long time, even if I never get my article written!

Hopefully you enjoy the photos that we were able to get that morning. It was definitely an experience that we all loved. By the way, here’s a little plug for Lasater… you can buy their beef at Whole Foods.

If I am able to get the article written and published I’ll be sure to mention that here and let everyone know where they can get the publication.

Senior Portraits… Justin from Texas, class of ‘09

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

I’d like to think that Justin came all the way up here from Texas just to have his portraits done by Tracy Bookman Photography, but, he was here visiting family.

Anyway, he and his family loved the portraits, so we put together a brief sampler music video of some of the images.

Thanks, Justin!

Thanks for viewing.

Extreme Seniors

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

We just announced a brand new portrait session for our Colorado Springs, and
Front Range high school seniors for their Senior photography and portraits.
We call it our EXTREME session, and we’re looking for 2 young people, a male
and a female, to do a session with and we’ll do it completely free and we’ll
even give you a great 10×20 mounted wall poster from your session, also for
free! What’s the catch? No catch. Really. We’re just starting this type of session
and we want to have some samples to show to our 2009 prospective clients. What’s
an EXTREME portrait session? Pick your favorite activity: mountain biking, rock
climbing, bungee jumping… whatever. Many photographers will do a session with
you with some of your gear from your activity. You know… you with your bike.
That’s OK, but we’re proposing to do the senior’s photography while he or she
is actively participating in the activity. That’s right. We’ll come to Garden
of the Gods with you and get some great photos of you rock climbing. We’ll head
to the trails with you to get some fantastic portraits of you on your mountain
bike. So, now you can have some portraits that are truly YOU. So, we’re looking
for a male and female model to let us do a session of you in your activity.
Again, we’ll do the session for free (some qualifications and restrictions have
to apply), and then we’ll design and give you a 10×20 mounted wall poster for
free. Interested in being one of our models? Give us a call. We’ll get some
information from you and see if we can make it happen. Are you a 2009 senior
interested in having an EXTREME session done for your senior portrait photography?
For seniors who call us to book an EXTREME portrait session for this summer,
if you call or email us BEFORE JUNE 25, we’ll take 33% off the session fee.
Contact us before JUNE 25 to get this discount. After June 25, our normal session
fee will apply.

Thanks for reading, and I hope to hear from you!
